El vehicle-pavement systems committee (E17) ha dado luz verde a la publicación d ela norma E3303 “Practice for Generating Pavement Surface Cracking Indices from Digital Images”.
“The new standard should help agencies seeking a more efficient means of accomplishing their pavement assessments,” says ASTM International member Jerry Daleiden, principal engineer, ARRB Systems. Anyone responsible for pavement infrastructure management will find the standard useful.
According to Daleiden, the vehicle-pavement systems committee will also continue to maintain its practice for conducting pavement assessments in person (D6433, Practice for Roads and Parking Lots Pavement Condition Index Surveys).
Daleiden says that the task group that developed this new standard welcomes anyone who would like to participate in its efforts to support performance of pavement assessments safely and efficiently.
