The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) will host a webinar on Wednesday, November 7, from 1:30 PM-3:00 PM ET on improving grade crossing safety through the use of improved diagnostics and new technologies, as part of the second Strategic Highway Research Program (SHRP2) Railroad-DOT Mitigation Strategies (R16) product. This webinar will provide attendees with an overview of predictive analysis recently adopted by Union Pacific Railroad to prioritize grade crossing improvements and new technology tested by the North Carolina Department of Transportation. These new technologies, developed in partnership with the Federal Railroad Administration, include Dynamic Gate Operations and Radar-Based Highway Vehicle Detection. Register for the webinar in advance as seats are limited. Contact email@example.com with any questions about these webinars.
SHRP2 is a partnership of FHWA, AASHTO, and TRB. TRB completed the research, and now FHWA and AASHTO are jointly implementing the resulting SHRP2 Solutions that will help the transportation community increase safety, enhance productivity, boost efficiency, and improve the reliability of the nation’s highway system. The SHRP2 program created 63 solutions that have been implemented in 430 projects across the country to date.
